The Church of Surf has yet to seek professional audio engineering for a complete and coherent live recording of any of our shows, but if you've seen them live, then you know how difficult and possibly impossible it could be to capture the ensemble production that is a Church of Surf set. In light of this concession, the Church of Surf has offered a few bootleg mp3s from one of their earlier gigs, live at the Chelsea Ballroom. Recorded in September of 2006, these songs feature Eugene Gray and Mike Oppenheim on Guitars, Jason Christensen on Bass Guitar, Omar Steinberg on Percussion, Jacob Potter on Saxaphone, and John Koonce on Drums. Not featured in these audio-only recordings is Sarah Hendrickson's go-go dancing as the definitive Chakra Surfer.
